@Chrishockman It seems to be taking an internal issue public in direct contradiction of how he has told players he would handle such things. Additionally he has publicly pitted #usmnt players against each other over a dispute that sounds as if it was already resolved. My guess is he couldn’t handle being criticized for not playing Reyna and decided to make this all public. #mastodonfc

@mlstakes damned if you do, damned if you don’t. He’s been hounded about why he didn’t play Gio and said why. He was going to get hanged by folks no matter what he did. If you’re going to do it, now is the time to do it, it’s American soccer everyone will be mad for a week or two and then it’s done.

@Chrishockman I would argue there was no damned if you don’t. The issue was over, Gregg resurrected it. It’s more damned if you do, why did you do it?

@mlstakes people have been bugging him about Gio and it hasn’t stopped. If he says nothing people will forever ask him why. If he says something people complain about what he said. I still think this stuff should be internal but I also thought that when Gio said stuff after the Wales game.

@Chrishockman I guess that’s the difference between a 49 year old coach and a 20 year old player. The 49 year old coach is going to have to be quiet even when it’s annoying to. Why? Cause it’s his responsibility to protect and lead the 20 year old kid.

@Chrishockman not seeing the connection. I’m not arguing about his choices with Gio, it’s him now airing dirty laundry that was settled. Laundry he told his players would be kept in the team.
